YANGON, Myanmar, Sept. 3 (UPI) -- A Burmese beauty queen is being forced to surrender her crown, prize money and international title for refusing to get breast implants and "escort" wealthy businessmen.
The Miss Pacific World Organization said it dethroned May Myat Noe, who earned her way into the competition after winning Myanmar's national beauty pageant, for "lack[ing] personality, integrity, loyalty to the organization, and lovely character."
Pageant organizers initially said Noe was holding her winnings, the crown and a pair of new breast implants hostage until her mother's sanctuary in South Korea could be arranged.
Noe, however, had a very different story.

At a press conference in Yangon, the 18-year-old beauty queen said pageant officials insisted she get "head-to-toe" cosmetic surgery if they were to support her pursuit of a music career and "escort some business tycoons" to raise funds for the endeavor.
David Kim, director of media for the Miss Pacific World Organization admitted that Noe was told she must undergo surgery, even claiming forcing her to do so was the pageant's "responsibility."
"We thought she should be more beautiful ... so as soon as she arrived we sent her to the hospital to operate on her breasts If she has no good nose, then maybe, if she likes, we can operate on her nose. If it's breasts, then breasts."
Noe says she will return the prize money and crown when she has received an apology for how she was treated. Pageant organizers say it is Noe who owes them an apology.
"She's saying what we want to say ... Everyone knows she is no longer the queen, but she thinks as long as she keeps this crown she's the winner. She's not."
