PYONGYANG, North Korea, Aug. 20 (UPI) -- North Korea has picked its next target for its crude and personal insults: U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry.
North Korea called Kerry a wolf with a "hideous lantern jaw" through a Korean language news dispatch. The insult comes as the U.S. and South Korea conduct joint military drills.
"His behavior fully revealed once again the U.S. inveterate nature as a hypocrite who has deceived and mocked mankind with all sorts of gimmicks," said an unidentified policy department spokesman at the North Korean defense commission, adding that Kerry was a "wolf donning the mask of a sheep."
Along with the military drills, the insult is also in response to Kerry criticizing North Korea's violation of human rights and their proliferation of nuclear weapons.
This is not the first time North Korea has issued personal and degrading insults. They have previously called U.S. President Barack Obama a "monkey" and South Korean President Park Geun-hye a "prostitute."
