Video allegedly shows Hamas rocket assembly and firing

Israel has been blaming Hamas for the disproportionate number of civilian casualties.

GAZA, Aug. 6 (UPI) -- India's NDTV released a video report allegedly showing Hamas assemble and fire a rocket in a dense neighborhood in Gaza City.

The video shows a blue tent outside the hotel where the reporters were staying. Underneath the tent are alleged Hamas members assembling a rocket. Just before the beginning of the 72-hour cease-fire, the same reporters saw them take down the tent and fire the rocket. The tent is allegedly how they escaped Israeli detection.

If the video is proven to be legitimate, it would give credence to Israel's claims that the group is using densely populated areas as human shields for its members and weapons.

The cease-fire still holds as of Wednesday afternoon as representatives from Hamas and Israel meet in Cairo to discuss a long-lasting truce.

The Wall Street Journal said it could not independently verify the video.
