GAZA, July 26 (UPI) -- A 24-hour cease-fire arrangement, agreed upon by Israel, is under consideration by Hamas, officials said.
Hamas spokesman Osama Hamdan told CNN the organization was considering the truce, which Israel authorized.

"What was declared was a positive sign but we're still waiting for clarification from mediators," Hamdan said late Saturday.
A 12-hour cease-fire expired 8 p.m. Saturday, 1 p.m. ET.
At the conclusion of the first cease-fire, rockets were fired out of Gaza into Israel.
Israel agreed to the second, longer cease-fire with the caveat the Israel Defense Forces continue destroying tunnels from Gaza into Israel.
"We will do what it takes in order to stop this threat," said IDF spokesman Lt. Col. Peter Lerner. "We have to take this threat off of the table."
