WASHINGTON, July 23 (UPI) -- The U.S. Federal Aviation Administration announced Wednesday that it was extending a ban on American carriers flying to and from Israel's Ben Gurion International Airport in Tel Aviv for an additional 24-hour period.
The initial directive was issued on Tuesday at 12:15 ET. With the extension, the FAA said the ban will be in effect until 4:15 p.m. Thursday "while the FAA continues to monitor and evaluate the situation."
