Nuclear talks with U.S. 'constructive,' says Iran

GENEVA, Switzerland, June 9 (UPI) -- Iran's deputy Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi emerged from talks with U.S. officials in Geneva on Monday concerning Iran's nuclear program, calling the meeting both "positive and constructive."

The two delegations met for five hours, with European Union deputy Foreign Policy Chief Helga Schmidt also present.

"The negotiations between Iran and the U.S. were held in a positive and constructive atmosphere in Geneva."

Monday's meeting is part of a two-day tri-lateral session in advance of the fifth round of nuclear talks between Iran and six world powers -- known as the P5+1 -- scheduled to take place in Vienna from June 16-20.
