Suicide bombing at Baghdad Shia mosque kills 17

17 people were killed Tuesday when a suicide bomber blew himself up at a Shia mosque in Baghdad.

BAGHDAD, May 27 (UPI) -- A suicide bomber killed at least 17 people on Tuesday at a Shia mosque in Baghdad.

The bombing at the mosque in Baghdad's Shorja district occurred shortly before midday prayers.

No one has yet claimed responsibility for the attack.

The attack comes amid political uncertainty as Iraqi leaders continue to negotiate the formation of a coalition government.
