White House condemns North Korean media comparison of Obama to 'wicked monkey'

PYONGYANG, North Korea, May 9 (UPI) -- North Korean media, not known for its impartiality or political correctness, recently used racial epithets to describe U.S. President Barack Obama.

In the May 2 article by KCNA, entitled, "Divine punishment to the world's one and only delinquent Obama," the American president is referred to as a "wicked black monkey."

North Korean media is infamous for its personal attacks, although North Korea analysts observed that the attacks on Obama were especially intense.

"You can also tell this by his appearance and behavior, and while it may be because he is a crossbreed, one cannot help thinking the more one sees him that he has escaped from a monkey's body," read one entry.

The White House commented, calling the slurs "particularly ugly and disrespectful."

In late April, North Korean state media described South Korean President Park Geun-hye a "prostitute" and Obama her "powerful pimp."
