WASHINGTON, March 10 (UPI) -- The White House announced Sunday that President Barack Obama will meet Wednesday with Ukrainian Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk in Washington to discuss the crisis in Ukraine's Crimean Peninsula.
White House Press Secretary Jay Carney said that the meeting will focus on American and international community support to Ukraine, whose citizens "have demonstrated inspiring courage and resilience through recent times of crisis."
The two leaders will discuss how best to peacefully resolve the crisis of Russia's military incursion into Crimea in a way that respects Ukraine's sovereign territorial integrity. Obama and Yatsenyuk will also discuss international economic support to Ukraine, as well as Ukraine's May presidential election preparations.
