Over 200 migrants storm reception center at Morocco-Spain border

MELILLA, Spain, Feb. 28 (UPI) -- More than 200 sub-Saharan migrants on Friday stormed the Spanish enclave Melilla, at a crossing point on the Spain-Morocco border, officials said.

The migrants, most of whom were from Cameroon and Guinea, scaled a 20-foot fence to get into the Melilla migrant reception center, The Olive Press, Andalucia, Spain, reported.

Officials said the migrants threw sticks, stones and bottles at police.

Some of the migrants suffered minor injuries climbing the fence.

It was not reported whether the migrants would be kicked out of the reception center or be allowed to stay.
