LOS ANGELES, Feb. 27 (UPI) -- Two copies of Mein Kampf, signed by Adolf Hitler, are going up for auction Thursday in Los Angeles.

The two copies are going to be auctioned with the starting price of $20,000, but the auction house expects it to sell for at least $25,000.

They are inscribed to Joseph Bauer, an S.S. officer involved in Hitler's failed 1923 Beer Hall Putsch, and are signed with the dates 1925 and 1926. The owner of the auction house, Nate D. Sanders, is Jewish, and admits that the books are "ominously signed," but that they are a part of history nevertheless.

The two copies were previously auctioned for $25,000 at a London auction house in 2012.
