Suspect arrested for allegedly stealing artwork from Spanish museum

SATANDER, Spain, Feb. 27 (UPI) -- Spanish police said they have arrested a man for allegedly stealing an engraving by 18th and 19th century painter Francisco de Goya.

Jose Maria G.P., 36, allegedly stole the picture from the Modern and Contemporary Art Museum in Santander on Friday, ThinkSpain reported.

The engraving is part of a series and is worth about $2,700.

Police said the suspect, who was arrested on Monday, has a criminal record.
