KAMPALA, Uganda, Feb. 27 (UPI) -- Most Ugandans support the recent legislation outlawing homosexuality, putting the gays and gay rights activists published in the newspapers at risk for attack.
BBC's Tulip Mazumdar asked Ugandans about how they felt about the new anti-gay law, and there is a very heated, anti-gay sentiment.
"They cannot make up a good family or a good relationship," said one woman. "According to the law, I just want it [homosexuality] to be out totally. Man and man: they cannot be together."
"I don't support gay [people], because our school told us it's bad and spreads disease," said a teenage boy.
The legislation has stoked the fire of anti-gay sentiment in the country and puts at significant risk the people who have been published as gay or gay rights activists.
