Couple accused of having sex on airplane facing more charges

HALIFAX, Nova Scotia, Feb. 23 (UPI) -- A couple arrested for allegedly having sex on a Canada Air flight are now facing additional charges, officials said.

Jason Chase, 38, and Alicia Lander, 24, were initially arrested and charged with committing a sexual act on an airplane after arriving at Halifax Stanfield International Airport in January, the Canadian Broadcasting Corp. reported Saturday.

Both Chase and Lander are now facing a charge of committing an indecent act.

Lander was further charged with causing a disturbance, assaulting a police officer and mischief. Police said Lander was verbally abusive and kicked officers after being arrested.

The couple were scheduled to appear in court Tuesday.
