Pakistani police investigating killing of eight family members

LAHORE, Pakistan, Feb. 18 (UPI) -- Unknown attackers allegedly entered a home in Lahore, Pakistan, and killed a family of eight, police said.

The assailants escaped after the incident, Dawn News reported.

The relatives of the victims said they had been trying to contact the family since Monday night. When they did not receive a response, they went to check on the family and found all of them dead.

Superintendent of Police Muhammad Awais Malik said the attackers used sharp objects to kill the family Monday night.

The bodies have been transported to a hospital for an autopsy.

Further details, including possible motives, have not been released, Dawn News reported.
