ZHENGZHOU, China, Feb. 5 (UPI) -- A passenger plane nosed into the runway while taxiing when its landing gear malfunctioned in Zhengzhou, China, but no injuries were reported.
The incident occurred at 6:29 p.m. Tuesday as the plane arrived at Xinzheng International Airport, the state-run Xinhua News Agency reported.
The front landing gear withdrew unexpectedly when the aircraft was taxiing, causing the nose of the plane to touch the ground, the report said.
All 44 people on board were safe, the Civil Aviation Administration of China said.
The Joyair Flight 1533 was flying from Taiyuan to Zhengzhou.
Safety authorities are investigating the accident, and the airport was closed until 10:30 p.m.
A total of 114 inbound and outbound flights were delayed.
