PETAH TIKVA, Israel, Feb. 3 (UPI) -- Two people died Monday in a car bomb explosion in Petah Tikva in central Israel, police said.
Officials said they were investigating whether the incident was a "work accident" or an assassination attempt, the Jerusalem Post reported.

Police said the explosion, which injured four others who were treated at the scene, initially looked suspicious.
Six months ago, another car bomb in Petah Tikva killed two people.
