ISLAMABAD, Jan. 15 (UPI) -- A bus carrying schoolchildren crashed in Pakistan Wednesday, killing at least 24 people, most of them students, officials said.
The van was carrying 30 students and two teachers from Bright Future Private School in Daulatpur, Pakistan. The children had gone on a field trip and were returning to the school when their bus collided first with another bus, then was rammed by a large truck, the Associated Press of Pakistan reported.
Twenty-one students of unknown ages were among the dead, plus the two teachers and the driver of the oncoming bus.
National Assembly member Faryal Talpur pledged a full investigation into the accident, adding anyone responsible would be prosecuted.
