LONDON, Jan. 15 (UPI) -- Charlie Brooks, husband of journalist Rebekah Brooks who's at the center of Britain's phone-hacking case, concealed evidence from police, prosecutors alleged.
A cleaner said he found two bags belonging to Charlie Brooks in a garbage bin in the underground parking garage at the couple's London home the day after police arrested his wife in July 2011 in connection with the phone hacking case. Inside were a laptop computer, an iPad and several pieces of pornography, including a magazine titled Lesbian Lovers and seven DVDs.
The cleaner testified Wednesday he did not see the pornography and gave the bags to a supervisor in the couple's apartment building, the Guardian newspaper reported.
Brooks' defense lawyer denied his client was trying to conceal evidence from detectives and said the electronics were old and of no use.
