Hearing for four Kenyan mall shooting suspects adjourned

NAIROBI, Kenya, Jan. 15 (UPI) -- A hearing to determine if there was enough evidence to put four men on trial for the siege at an upscale mall in Nairobi, Kenya, was adjourned Wednesday.

The hearing was adjourned until Thursday about two hours after it began, CNN reported.

The four suspects are believed to be from Somalia, though two had Kenyan identification and citizenship papers, police said.

They are accused of a four-day siege at the Westgate Mall in Nairobi last year, which resulted in the deaths of 67 people.

The Somali terror group al-Shabaab -- an al-Qaida affiliate -- claimed responsibility for the attack.
