GENEVA, Switzerland, Jan. 10 (UPI) -- Details have been resolved for an agreement to halt some of Iran's nuclear activities, the Iranian deputy foreign minister said Friday in Geneva, Switzerland.
Iranian state television reported Abbas Araghchi, the deputy foreign minister and deputy nuclear negotiator in talks in Geneva between Iran and six world powers, said the details would need final approval from all the involved governments, the New York Times reported Friday.
Iran and the "P5-plus-1" countries -- Britain, China, France, Russia, the United States and Germany -- have been negotiating on how to carry out an agreement reached in November that would temporarily halt some of Iran's nuclear activities, in exchange for billions of dollars in sanctions relief.
Araghchi said solutions have been found "for all the points of disagreement, but the implementation of the Geneva agreement depends on the final ratification of the capitals."
Officials have privately suggested a Jan. 20 target date for ratification.
The two-day round of talks was held amid pressure to implement the agreement, regarded at the time as a diplomatic breakthrough that could lead to resolution of Iran's nuclear activities.
