HO CHI MINH CITY, Vietnam, Dec. 30 (UPI) -- Rescuers found the bodies of seven students who drowned after being swept away while swimming at a beach in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnamese officials said Monday.
Officials said the students were carried out to sea Sunday and the last of the bodies were found Monday, Tuoi Tre News reported.
Some of the bodies were recovered more than 6 miles from 30 Thang 4 Beach, the district People's Committee said.
The victims were part of a group of 96 junior high students and 19 teachers from Binh Duong province who were touring Can Gio district of Ho Chi Minh City, Tuoi Tre news said.
Officials said more than 100 people, including local border guards, firefighters, soldiers and fishermen, helped search for the students.
