Four bomb-disposal personnel killed in Pakistan

PESHAWAR, Pakistan, Dec. 16 (UPI) -- A roadside bomb exploded in Peshawar, Pakistan, Monday, killing four members of a bomb disposal crew en route to another blast site, officials said.

A fifth person was reported to have suffered serious injuries.

The bomb crew members were on their way to a motorcycle shop, site of the earlier explosion, when the roadside bomb was remotely detonated on Sheik Muhammadi Road, Bomb Disposal Unit Assistant Inspector Gen. Shafqat Malik told the Express Tribune.

The victims were identified as sub-inspector Abdul Haq, head constable Imtiaz, Aminul Haq and their driver, Kashif.

The injured person was identified as civilian Nazaul Haq.

"It is a great loss but our morale is high and BDU will continue its duty in the ongoing war on terror," Malik said.
