Car bomb kills 7, injures 37 in northeast Somalia

BOSASO, Somalia, Dec. 5 (UPI) -- At least seven people were killed and 37 others were injured when a car packed with explosives was driven into a military convoy in Somalia, officials say.

The incident happened Thursday in the city of Bosaso, CNN reported.

There was not immediate claim of responsibility for the attack, but the Islamist militant group al-Shabaab has carried out similar attacks in the area in the past.
