ST. PETERSBURG, Russia, Nov. 29 (UPI) -- The remaining Greenpeace activist jailed in Russia has been granted bail by a court in St. Petersburg, officials said.
Activist Colin Russell, of Australia, was granted bail on Thursday after previously being the only member of the Greenpeace group denied bail, RIA Novosti reported.
Russell, along with 29 other activists and journalists dubbed the "Arctic 30," was arrested in September by Russian authorities after two of the activists tried to scale the side of an Arctic oil rig operated by the Russian energy giant Gazprom.
They were initially charged with piracy, but the charges have since been downgraded to hooliganism.
Greenpeace has paid $60,000 per person to get the activists out of jail.
"BREAKING: Activist Colin Russell (AUS) released from St Petersburg detention centre. All #Arctic30 detainees have now been released," Greenpeace tweeted Thursday.
