CARDIFF, Wales, Nov. 26 (UPI) -- The vocalist of the band Lostprophets pleaded guilty in Cardiff, Wales, Tuesday to 13 sexual offenses, including attempted rapes of babies, court records said.
Ian Watkins, 36, changed his pleas on a range of child sex charges in court on the day he was scheduled to stand trial, the news website Wales Online reported.
Watkins was accused of storing child pornography, an attempted rape of a very young child, conspiring to rape a child less than 13, videotaping sexual assaults and "very serious sexual offenses against two babies belonging to the female defendants in this case," prosecutor Chris Clee said, a reference to children of Watkins' two unidentified co-defendants.
Detective Chief Inspector Peter Doyle of the South Wales Police told the court the investigation "has uncovered the most shocking and harrowing child abuse evidence I've ever seen."
