Police in Spain trying to link suspects to boy's disappearance in 2007

MADRID, Nov. 14 (UPI) -- Spanish investigators are trying to track two Scottish men who once owned a cleaning service on Gran Canaria to determine if they kidnapped a boy there.

Yeremi Vargas was only 7 when he vanished in 2007. The Guardia Civil released photos of the men this week in an effort to find witnesses who might link the men to his disappearance and presumed death, The Local.es reported.

Charles O'Neill and William Lauchlan are now in prison in Scotland. A third Scottish man is also suspected of being involved, but his whereabouts are unknown.

O'Neill and Lauchlan owned Rainbow Cleaning Services in Vecindario at the time Yeremi vanished. Yeremi was last seen by his cousins in the town, ThinkSpain reported.

The men were deported from Spain after authorities determined they had molested two 15-year-old boys.

They were arrested in Blackpool in 2010. One was convicted of killing a woman in Scotland who threatened to report him for molesting boys, while the other was imprisoned on sex charges.
