NEW DELHI, Nov. 12 (UPI) -- Four earthquakes within three hours early Tuesday were recorded in India's capital New Delhi but no injuries or damage was reported.

NDTV channel, quoting the Indian Meteorological Department, the quakes ranging in magnitude from 3.3 to 2.5 on the Richter scale struck, between 12:41 a.m. and 3:40 a.m. in and around the south Delhi area, forcing residents out of their homes, some preferring to stay out all night.

The meteorological department said the mild tremors were caused by a re-alignment in fault zones.

One person tweeted that the tremors were anything but mild as they felt like "thunder coming from the ground," the report said.

The Times of India quoted the department as saying the tremors lasted three to four seconds each and their epicenter was at a depth of 6 miles.
