A law enforcement official told RIA Novosti a militant entered the store, shot a security guard, planted the bomb and fled.

The bomb was then detonated remotely, the official said.

It was unclear whether the guard was the person killed.

The owner of the store had been intimidated by Islamic radicals in mostly Muslim Dagestan because he sold alcohol, the official said.

"It is not the first time that this store has been bombed," the official said, explaining that it also was bombed Aug. 3.
