(UPI) -- A public prosecutor was killed Wednesday in what Iranian officials are deeming a terrorist attack.
The prosecutor's car was attacked by a group of armed men in southeast Iran. The prosecutor's driver was also killed.

The killing may be linked to affairs in Iran's southeastern province where a Sunni Muslim minority lives in Shiite dominated Iran. The province is near the Afghan border and is home to Sunni militants and smuggling activities.
