MOUNTSORREL, England, Nov. 5 (UPI) -- A 4-year-old British girl has died after being mauled by her pet dog, which a witness said shook her like a rag doll Tuesday.
The Mountsorrel girl, identified only as Lexi, died in a hospital after the attack, The Daily Telegraph reported.

Neighbors told the London newspaper the girl's mother, Jodi Hudson, 30, tried but was unable to save her.
The report did not specify what kind of dog was involved but said there was no indication it was a banned breed.
Police said the dog -- which the family had had for just a few months -- is dead, but officials did not confirm whether police destroyed it.
