Pakistani law minister killed in suicide bomber attack

DERA ISMAIL KHAN, Pakistan, Oct. 16 (UPI) -- At least 10 people, including a provincial law minister, were killed Wednesday when a suicide bomber struck a gathering in northwest Pakistan, police said.

Israrullah Gandapur, 38, the appointed law minister of Kyber Pakhtunkhwa province, was killed, and more than 30 were injured in the blast in the city of Dera Ismail Khan, the English-language Pakistani newspaper the News International reported.

The suicide bomber entered Ganapur's home, where an Eid al-Adha holiday gathering was in progress, and detonated an explosive-filled vest, the newspaper said.
