Fitow made landfall in Zhejiang and Fujian provinces Monday, causing extensive damage and power losses, Chinese state-run news agency Xinhua reported.

More than 250,000 households in Zhejiang province were without power Wednesday morning. About 10,000 workers were repairing electrical facilities throughout the province, Xinhua said.

Provincial flood control and drought relief headquarters said the typhoon had caused a direct economic loss of $2 billion in Zhejiang as of Monday.

Zhejian province had more than 5 inches of rain from Saturday to Monday, but the rain stopped in many parts of the province Wednesday.
