While investigators were at her apartment, the boy admitted that he had been taking the money from her hiding spot, most recently stealing $150 and using it to buy candy, police said in a statement.

Police didn't file criminal charges against the boy since he was under the age of criminal liability. A commission on underage issue will decide on possible disciplinary measures against the boy.
