8 arrested for questioning in two Northern Ireland stabbings

COOKSTOWN, Northern Ireland, Sept. 28 (UPI) -- Eight men face potential charges, including attempted murder, after a night of violence in County Tyrone in Northern Ireland, police said Saturday.

Two men were stabbed overnight in Cookstown, the Belfast Telegraph reported. Investigators said the two attacks may be related.

Eight men between the ages of 17 and 30 were arrested for questioning, police said.

In addition to attempted murder, they were being questioned about assault and grievous bodily harm.
