In 2009, the officers took Xia to their office where an argument broke out.

Xia stabbed the officers, killing Shen Kai and Zhang Xudong and injuring Zhang Wei.

Xia fled the scene, but was soon captured.

In 2009, the court found him guilty of intentional homicide and he was sentenced to death.

He appealed the death sentence, but his attempt was rejected by a higher court.
