Divers begin search for missing bodies at stern of Costa Concordia

GIGLIO, Italy, Sept. 24 (UPI) -- Divers said Tuesday they began searching for the two victims of the Costa Concordia cruise ship disaster whose bodies have not been found.

The search comes after the 114,000-ton ship, which has been lying semi-submerged off the Island of Giglio since January 2012, was moved to an upright position last week.

The site was declared safe, and divers began searching for the bodies of passenger Maria Grazia Tricarichi and crew member Russel Rebelloto Tuesday morning.

The search began at the stern of the ship, Italy's ANSA news agency reported.

The bodies of the other 30 victims were recovered after the disaster, when the ship hit a rock off the island and capsized.
