N. Korea official: 6-party talks should resume 'without preconditions'

PYONGYANG, North Korea, Sept. 20 (UPI) -- North Korean negotiator Kim Kye Gwan returned home Friday after a five-day visit to China and urged that the six-party nuclear talks be resumed, officials said.

Kim, upon returning to Pyongyang, said the long-stalled talks about his country's nuclear plans should to continue "without preconditions," Yonhap reported.

In China, Kim, North Korea's first vice foreign minister, met with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi and other officials.

The six-party talks, stalemated for several years, involve North and South Korea, Japan, China, Russia and the United States.
