Two men found dead on farm in Northern Ireland

GLENARM, Northern Ireland, Sept. 14 (UPI) -- The bodies of two men were found late Friday on an isolated farm in Northern Ireland, police said.

A farm worker made the discovery near Glenarm in County Antrim, the Belfast Telegraph reported. The Police Service of Northern Ireland said the call came in about 5:15 p.m.

The PSNI released little information Friday as officers and forensic teams flooded the farm and nearby residents gathered outside. Some media reports said the men had been shot.

One of the men was the owner of the farm and lived there on his own, UTV reported. The other was believed to be an employee.

The farm had been in the same family for several generations, UTV said.

Oliver McMullan of Sinn Fein, who represents the area in the Legislative Assembly, said the deaths were a tragedy for the community as well as for the families of the victims.

"The community is in a state of shock as both men were well known within this tight-knit community," he said.
