PARIS, Sept. 9 (UPI) -- Thieves drove a vehicle into the front of a jewelry store in Paris early Monday and stole merchandise worth more than $2.6 million, officials say.
Radio France International said the break-in occurred at Casty jewelers on Rue de Castiglione near the Place Vendome, where many of the world's most famous jewelers have their flagship stores.

The thieves set fire to the vehicle and then fled in a second car.
