The Kunduz provincial police chief's spokesman said the death toll was closer to 10, with 10 injured.

The suicide bomber was pretending to be among the people receiving guests at the mourning ceremony, The New York Times reported. In Afghanistan, funerals tend to be brief and attended by only a small number of people. The family of the dead receives those who wish to pay respects afterward.
