URUMQI, China, Aug. 30 (UPI) -- Northwest China was shaken by a 5.1-magnitude earthquake Friday, officials said. There were no reports of injuries or damage.
The quake, which struck at 1:27 p.m. local time, had a depth of 17.2 miles and was centered outside of Urumqi, the capital of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, China's state-owned Xinhua News Agency reported.

The regional seismological bureau dispatched three teams to survey the scene.
