5th suspect arrested in Mumbai gang rape

MUMBAI, Aug. 25 (UPI) -- A fifth suspect has been arrested in the gang rape of a female journalist in Mumba, police said.

Mohammed Salim Ansari, the fifth and last accused, was arrested by Mumbai police in North West Delhi's Ashok Vihar on Sunday and taken to court in Rohini, the Press Trust of India reported.

Vijay Jadhav alias Nanu, Siraj Rehman alias Ashfaq, and Kasam Bangali were arrested in the case Saturday and have been ordered held until August 30. Chand Abdul Sattar Shaikh was arrested in the case on Friday.

Police said the 22-year-old victim and a male colleague were working at the isolated Shakti Mill Compound when they were confronted by five men. The woman was then raped while her colleague was assaulted and tied up.

The woman is receiving treatment at a local hospital.
