Hindu priest arrested in Indian temple bombings

PATNA, India, Aug. 14 (UPI) -- Investigators in India investigating the serial bombings at Bodh Gaya's Mahabodhi temple said Wednesday that they have arrested a Hindu priest.

The National Investigation Agency, with help from local police, arrested Arup Brahmachari, who allegedly fled the scene after the blasts.

The NIA team said it will interrogate Brahmachari, the Indo-Asian News Service said.

The NIA has already questioned several people, including members of the Bodh Gaya Temple Management Committee and the ward staff after 10 bombs exploded at the holy site July 7.

The NIA has also detained at least six people, including named suspect Vinod Mistri, the News Service said.
