People sitting in the first five rows of the bus were buried under fallen bricks from the truck.

Of those who were injured in the incident, three are in critical condition, officials said.

Police said the coach was traveling illegally -- buses are not allowed to travel on expressways between 2 and 5 a.m., to prevent severe road accidents.
