MONTREAL, Aug. 5 (UPI) -- A large piece of metal fell from a condominium construction site in Montreal Monday and fatally struck a man who happened to be walking by, police said.
The 32-year-old man, who was a passerby not a worker, was hit by a large metal plate about 8:20 a.m. EDT and died shortly after arriving at a hospital, the Canadian Broadcasting Corp. reported city police confirmed

"He was in a critical state and transported rapidly to [a] hospital," Bob Lamle of Urgences-Sante said.
Police and the provincial coroner's office were investigating the accident, the CBC said.
