Abbas meets with Mansour in Cairo

CAIRO, July 29 (UPI) -- Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas arrived in Cairo Monday for meetings with interim Egyptian President Adly Mansour, officials said.

This marks Abbas' first trip to Egypt since President Mohamed Morsi was ousted from office July 3 by the Egyptian Military, the Palestinian Ma'an News Agency reported.

Abbas was accompanied to Egypt by a delegation of senior Palestinian officials who will be involved in discussions on peace and the situation for Palestinians in Gaza.

After arriving in Cairo, Abbas was the presidential palace to meet with Mansour, Daily News Egypt reported.

An official at the Palestinian embassy said Abbas and Mansour would discuss "many things" relating to "Egyptian-Palestinian relations."
