FARAH, Afghanistan, July 28 (UPI) -- At least seven children searching for scrap metal were killed or injured Sunday when a bomb Afghan officials said was left over from past hostilities exploded.
The live ordnance detonated in the first district of Farah city in Afghanistan's western Farah province, Khaama Press reported.

Provincial government spokesman Abdul Rahman Zhwandai said the victims of the incident were small children who searching for metal scraps when the explosion happened.
Zhwandai said the unexploded bomb was left from civil war times.
