STOCKPORT, England, July 27 (UPI) -- British police said it was "sheer luck" no one was seriously hurt when a double-decker bus crashed into a bridge, peeling back its roof.
Police said 10 people were on the bus when it struck a bridge in Stockport, outside Manchester about 1:40 p.m. Saturday, the Manchester Evening News reported.

Six of the passengers were treated at a hospital but none were seriously hurt.
The BBC described the injuries as cuts and bruises.
"A bus carrying 10 passengers has crashed into a railway bridge, it is only by sheer luck that no-one was seriously injured," said Stockport police Sgt. Danny Byrne of the Serious Collision Investigation Unit.
A sign on the bridge noted the clearance at 12-feet, 9-inches.
