JALALABAD, Afghanistan, July 16 (UPI) -- An International Security Assistance Force soldier and at least two other people were killed Tuesday in separate attacks in Afghanistan, officials said.
One attack killed a NATO-led ISAF member, but details about the exact location of the incident were not reported, Khaama Press said.
"An International Security Assistance Force service member died following a direct fire attack in eastern Afghanistan today," the ISAF said in a statement.
The identity and nationality of the soldier also were not reported.
"It is ISAF policy to defer casualty identification procedures to the relevant national authorities," the statement said.
At least 3,348 foreign soldiers -- 99 of whom are NATO soldiers -- have been killed in Afghanistan since the U.S.-led invasion in 2011, Khaama Press said.
Meanwhile, at least three people died in an explosion in Jalalabad in eastern Nangarhar province, eyewitnesses said.
Provincial security chief Masoom Khan Hashemi put the death toll at two, both members of the Afghan national directorate of security and Afghan national police.
Hashemi said a motorcycle packed with explosives went off, killing the two security forces and injuring three others.
No group has taken responsibility for the attacks, Khaama Press said.
